It’s my favorite time of year…blood oranges are coming to the stores, guys! Just kidding, Christmastime is the best, but this is a close second. I have an excess of blood oranges (stock up while they’re in season!), a half-full bottle of Champagne and it’s Wednesday so I feel no guilt about drinking these outside the brunching hour. Speaking of brunch, add this one to your weekend or Christmas morning menu (get it, it’s festive red). A sprig of rosemary would make this especially festive. This one is my new favorite!
Scant 1/2 ounce Grand Marnier
Dash of Angostora or orange bitters
Champagne, prosecco, cava or other sparkling wine
1 ounce blood orange juice
Add the Grand Marnier and a dash of bitters to a champagne flute. Top off with Champagne until your glass in 3/4 full. Pour the blood orange juice on top and enjoy!
